1st XI Just Miss Out on Tucker Two Title - 13 September 2008

Despite a comprehensive 57 run win over Eaton Socon today in the final Tucker League Match of the season, Foxton had an equally convincing win against NCI, taking 25 points and finishing five points clear at the top. Congratulations to Foxton & well done to our boys for finishing so strongly this season & returning to Division One at the first attempt. Also promoted to Division One are Khalsa who beat Yaxley toclinch third position, 69 points behind Waresley.

Tucker Two Title Race Goes to the Wire - 6 September 2008

After the 1st XI's crushing win at Fordham & Foxton's game at Eaton Socon being abandoned, there are now just five points between us & the long time leaders with one more game to go.  Promotion in second place was confirmed today and anything less than a 25 point win for Foxton at NCI next Saturday leaves Waresley a chance of taking the Division Two Crown at home to Eaton Socon.

ClubMark - We've Done It! - 28 July 2008

We had our final inspection visit by Kevin Clement on Monday 28 July and he was pleased to tell us that Waresley Cricket Club has now achieved ECB ClubMark Status.

ClubMark means our cricket club is properly and efficiently managed, has a safe environment for young players and has a high standard of equity and ethics towards all members.  Only clubs that have ClubMark are nationally recognised as being run in a safe, effective and child-friendly manner.

Well done to all of us & many thanks to all those who have put the time in towards this process over the past few years.

Party in the Park - 18 July 2008

Despite a last minute downpour, more than 150 revellers turned up for the annual Party in the Park at Waresley Cricket Ground last Friday. The large marquee kept the elements out while partygoers danced to local band B1040. The bar did a roaring trade (thanks to Nick & Sarah Greenfield & their band of helpers) & there was more than enough pork to keep the hungry punters satisfied. John Gillett did his usual excellent job selling raffle tickets and managed to bring in over £300 for club funds. The Cricket Club would like to thank all those who helped with the evening by assisting with the setting up & clearing away and to the generous donors of the raffle prizes.
